Following BR 116, the trip will take the – Romantic Route – with more than 200 kilometers of a road full of winding curves and breathtaking landscapes, between the Vale dos Sinos and the Planalto da Serra Gaúcha. It consists of fourteen cities that share beautiful mountain scenery and Germanic influence. The Romantic Route is one of the main tourist circuits in the south of the country, offering both natural and cultural attractions.
In Nova Petrópolis, a brief stop to visit the first tourist spot of your tour. It is a hedge planted in circles, to challenge children and adults, in a park with flowers and cultural events.

To reach Gramado (after passing through the city of Nova Petrópolis, using the so-called Romantic Route), our customers will find the first tourist spot in the city. Opened in 1973, the Bavarian-style portico is a photo stop. Built in stone with details in lambrequin (cut wood) the portico welcomes visitors, always offering an impeccable garden to be appreciated.

Lago Negro de Gramado has an exuberant nature, a deep lake of dark green where the pine trees are mixed with the colors of blue hydrangeas in summer, and azaleas in winter.
It is indicated for moments of relaxation and reflection, because the climate and the similar landscape of Europe, there is a clear feeling of peace.

Stop At: Igreja Matriz Sao Pedro Apostolo, Avenida Borges de Medeiros 2559, Gramado, State of Rio Grande do Sul 95670-000 Brazil

The construction of the Igreja Matriz São Pedro de Gramado was inspired by the Roman architectural style. There were about 78 thousand basalt stones, which were extracted from quarries near the city of Gramado, and were dragged in dollies pulled by oxen.
The sacred stained glass windows of the church were painted by the German artist Pedro Dobmeier that mark the passages in the life of the apostle Peter alongside Jesus Christ.
The church bell weighs about 1,000 pounds. It was created in bronze, steel and tin. In 2009 the bell was electronically systematized. The total height of the church is 860 meters, 46 meters high of the tower.
The inauguration of the church took place on June 29, 1942, the date of the celebration of St. Peter’s Day.

It is the first interactive and contemporary cinema museum in Latin America. The collection consists of documents, posters, images, original texts and much more! In the museum, in addition to enjoying the beautiful history of national cinema, you can participate in an interactive game where you will be the director of the film. You will define the history of your film, the characters and the soundtrack, and then receive your work via e-mail.

Rua Coberta, originally called Madre Verônica, is one of the main points of interest in Gramado and is located in the heart of the city. It has a translucent roof (hence the name “Coberta Street”) and several hanging plants that give an even greater charm to the place. This street brings together local events, fairs, shops, several restaurants and is still a haven for tourists in times of rain. At the time of Natal Luz, some performances take place on Rua Coberta; many people stay in this region to also enjoy the end of the year party and see the fireworks. It is a meeting point at any time of the day, an ideal place to have a hot chocolate while enjoying the bustle of the city.

Mini Mundo is a miniature Brazilian park, being one of the most traditional tourist attractions in the city. In the park there are miniature cities, about 24 times smaller than the actual size.

Currently, Florybal is the most famous chocolate store and factory in Gramado and is on the road that connects Gramado and Canela.
For those with children, it is paradise. The front of the Florybal Store has several decorative and very colorful animals. Inside, there is an infinity of chocolates in the most varied forms of pets, dolls and everything that children love. There is also a small themed tunnel at the back of the store, with some benches where you can sit and rest.

Opened in 2009, Dreamland is the first wax museum in Latin America and the only one in Brazil, you will have fun, take pictures with your idols or even film. There are more than 90 famous personalities with thematic settings, features and details of the statues that impress visitors. One of the biggest honorees is the Gaúcha model Gisele Bündchen, the model’s statue was made in recognition of her success and her Gaúcha origin.

Cascata do Caracol is actually a 130 meter waterfall, located 7 kilometers from the municipality of Canela, in the Caracol State Park. It is formed by the Caracol River and cuts from basaltic cliffs in the Serra Geral, falling in the Lageana Valley.

The Aerial Cable Cars – Parques da Serra, provide a beautiful view of the Caracol Waterfall, a natural symbol of Canela – RS. In addition, the local forest is a true wonder of nature.

In the highest part of the route the visitor passes by the Animal Station, where he can enjoy the lookout and circulate through 230 meters of well-marked trails, with identification plates of the species of native trees there. This station was named “Animal”, because there are about 85 wooden sculptures, created by the artist Masaharu Hata, that reproduce the sounds of the local fauna.

One of the most famous Apfelstrudel (apple pie) in the region, is served at the residence, in the two charming tea rooms. The traditional recipe of the Franzen family, involves everyone with its aroma, as soon as you enter Castelinho.
Castelinho Caracol, one of the first residences in the municipality of Canela, was built at the beginning of the 20th century, between 1913 and 1915, by Pedro Carlos Franzen married to Luiza Sommer.
Castelinho Caracol, preserves furniture and utensils from the time of its residents, the walls intact, even with the passage of time – almost a century! – show that the construction is the result of technique, knowledge and beauty.

Stop At: Paroquia Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, Praca da Matriz 69, Canela, State of Rio Grande do Sul 95680-000 Brazil

The parish of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes was created in 1937, but the construction of the cathedral only started in 1953 and was completed in 1987. The striking English Gothic style, designed by architect Bernardo Sartori, offers a memorable external view. Inside, stained glass windows with Our Lady, Via Sacra and a large sculpture of Holy Communion decorate a nave that can accommodate up to 800 people seated. The tower, 65 meters high, has a carillon of 12 bronze bells brought from Italy, which daily calls the faithful to the six o’clock mass.
But it is when night falls that the surprise begins! Lights color the stone walls of the Cathedral, while even stronger beams of light come out of its structure and gain the skies of this small town, which at this moment looms large, taken by the music and the plastic beauty of this unique show of sound and light.
