The ‘Serra Fina‘ mountain rage is located in the triple border of the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo,  in Brazil along the Serra da Mantiqueira mountains.

The Serra Fina Crossing has one of the largest topographic differences in the Brazilian territory, above 2,000m, and the highest point of the mountain range, Pedra da Mina, is the fourth higher point in Brazil and has a height of 2,798m.

Considered one of the most difficult crossings in Brazil, the Serra Fina has fewer water points during the crossing, many hours of walking a day in stretches of great differences and requires high level of endurance and physical exertion.

The trekking takes 04 trekking days to be covered, with approximately 32 km.

We will start and finish our Adventure in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Itinerary

Day 1: Rio de Janeiro City (hotel Pick-up) x Passa Quatro City (Minas Gerais State) x Overnight at Passa Quatro

Stop At: Passa Quatro, Passa Quatro, State of Minas Gerais
On this first day of adventures, we’ll do the group reception at Rio de Janiro Airport (or at your lodging) and we’ll have a transfer to the beautiful and quiet mining town of Passa-Quatro in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range (Minas Gerais state).
On this day we will do a Serra Fina Expedition briefing , checking equipment and we will rest for the day to get ready for the beginning of one of the most difficult treks in Brazil.

Day 2: Passa-quatro x Toca do Lobo Cave x Capim Amarelo Peak

Stop At: Floresta Nacional de Passa Quatro, Passa Quatro, State of Minas Gerais 37.460.000 Brazil
The beginning of the adventure will be at the ‘Toca do Lobo’ Cave (an old miner shelter of the region). We will cross a river and begin a long climb between bushes to the top of the mountain range. From this point, we will enjoy the magnificent views of valleys and farms of the region. After four hours of hike through crests we will leave for the final challenge,the Capim Amarelo Summit. Camping place of the first day trekking, in a beautiful and challenging hike to our destination.

Day 3: Capim Amarelo Peak x Pedra da Mina Peak

Stop At: Pico Pedra Da Mina, Border between the state of MG and SP, Passa Quatro, State of Minas Gerais Brazil
The next morning we’ll continue to a clearing called the ‘Maracanã’, then by the trail to the Pedra da Mina Peak, the fourth highest point in Brazil. The hike will follow the muntain crests where we will face an intense gap up to the summit of the fourth highest mountain in Brazil and the highest in the Serra da Mantiqueira Moutains, from its height we will have a 360º view of the entire region.
We will camp at the top of Pedra da Mina or Vale do Ruah.
For many, the Pedra da Mina sunrise is the most beautiful one of all Brazil.

Day 4: Pedra da Mina x 3 States Peak Camp

Stop At: Pico Pedra Da Mina, Border between the state of MG and SP, Passa Quatro, State of Minas Gerais Brazil
After our mountain breakfast, we will begin the descent of Pedra da Mina Peak, towards the Three States Peak, passing through the ‘Cupim de Boi’ Peak. The Three States Peak marks the meeting of three frontiers (São Paulo / Rio de Janeiro / Minas Gerais), and will set up our last camping in Serra Fina Crossing.
We rest from the tiring day for another beautiful sunrise in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountains range.

Day 5: 3 States Peak Camp x Passa Quatro City x Rio de Janeiro (Transfer)

Stop At: Passa Quatro, Passa Quatro, State of Minas Gerais
After sunrise, we will have breakfast and begin the descent of the Three States Peak. We will reach the ‘Alto dos Ívos’ and finish the Crossig with the view to the ‘Picú de Itamonte’ Peak, in the same city, and then we will return to Passa-Quatro (Minas Gerais State), finishing the Serra Fina Crossing Expedition, the most difficult and complete trekking route in Brazil.
Transfer to Rio de Janeiro at your lodging finishing the adventure.
