We will have a view from the top of the Conceição Hydraulic Elevator – which has been on an electrical system for a long time – and in the past popularly called “Parafuso”, it was the first urban elevator in the world. When it opened in 1873, it was also the tallest, at 63 meters. It connects Bairro do Comércio to Cidade Alta, in a journey of approximately 20 seconds. That’s when there’s no queue. So, on party days in that area, be prepared because the elevator is used as everyday public transport by those who live in the city.

The place where the Fallen Cross Monument is located has a lot of history, with different opinions. That was where the Sé Church stood, demolished to make way for the tram (1933). If you follow the trails that pass through Rua Chile, they will take you exactly there, Praça da Cruz Caída. Inaugurated in 1999, Cruz Caída pays homage to the disappearance of this former Cathedral Church, the Primatial of Brazil.
Terreiro de Jesus is a square of great historical and cultural importance located in the Historic Center of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
It took three years and eight months of renovation. But do you know how long it took to build? EIGHTEEN. YEARS! Yes, 18 years! Built since 1657, this gem located in the heart of Pelourinho is back in everyday life and in the faith of Bahia and around the world. The Cathedral is one of the most important sacred buildings in Colonial Brazil, a testimony to the country’s history and Catholicism.
Built between the 17th and 18th centuries, the Church and Convent of São Francisco are classified as one of the Seven Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the World and listed by IPHAN. Its 18th century Portuguese tiles reproduce the birth of Saint Francis and are adorned with wooden carvings molded with gold powder and with Brazilian baroque symbols: leaves, pelicans, flowers, little angels.
