After an hour and a half of the trip, arrive at a place where around 1,200 Guaraní live, who still preserve their ancestral customs and their own language, Guaraní.

The tribe lives in a demarcated land located in the extreme south of the city of São Paulo, where essentially subsistence agriculture is practiced, which provides daily food.

First, we’ll look at the agricultural plantations. Then, we walk through the village’s territories, seeing the children singing and having fun with typical dances or admiring the handicrafts.

Enjoy a Guarani lunch prepared on the wood stove. Then, if there is still time and good wind, take a 10-minute boat ride to visit a distillery with artisanal production of wines, liquors & cachaça of all types and homemade sweets and cheeses.

We will pick you up at your hotel in São Paulo and head southwards extreme of the city of São Paulo. After two hours of trip, we will arrive at an area where the indigenous Guaraní live.

The highlight of your visit will most likely be meeting and interacting with the Guarani people. Offer them respect and dignity and they’ll reward you in return with stories about their way of life, explanations of their artifacts, hikes through trails experiencing the diversity of the Atlantic rainforest.

First, we will see the agricultural plantations of the Guaraní, where sweet potatoes, cassava and corn stand out. Then, we stroll through the village’s territories, getting to know the flora and fauna of the area, see the children singing and having fun with typical dances or admire indigenous handicrafts. You will immerse yourself in the Guarani culture!

After the activities, savor a delicious Guarani lunch prepared in a wood-burning stove by the tribe’s inhabitants.

After the meal, if there is still time and good wind, go on a 10-minute boat ride along the reservoir and visit a distillery with artisanal production of wines, liqueurs and cachaça of all types, as well as homemade sweets and cheeses. In a large place, with animals and a green area, the environment resembles a farm located in a quiet and familiar place.

After have such an adventurous day, on the journey back to hotel, we’ll cater the conversation to your interests and our expertise, whether that can be indigenous people situation in Brazil currently, the ancient dreamtime stories of the region’s earliest and original inhabitants before the Portuguese arrival, also their struggles and life during the colonial period, local bioma, or cultural history of the area. 

This is a socially-conscious tour that part of your payment is reverted to the Guarani village to support their projects within the community. It’s much more sincere and authentic than the typical tour and this will be real cultural immersion. You will spend the day getting to know the community, children, people and their work.
